Being able to create what is in my head with my hands is unbelievably rewarding for me. . There is something so pure about guiding the wood through its journey. It has its own language and if you listen for it, you will know where to go. Whether it’s recovered old-growth logs from the Great Lakes or timbers salvaged from a local wind-torn barn, as the progression plays out, a new chapter is written. It is why I prefer to use sensible local materials that relate to each project. Not only does it support and communicate a broader environmental responsibility, but it also influences the form of the final piece.
